Safeguards and Security Division

The Safeguards and Security Division (SSD) oversees Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's implementation of government requirements for protecting information and materials associated with sensitive and classified work. Because the protection of these assets is essential to program viability and national security, we maintain a continual process for validating the effectiveness of contractor security programs.

In addition, we process and govern access authorizations for federal and contractor employees at the Service Center in Oakland and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory requiring access to classified information.
